SQL Developer/Database Admin
Position Summary: The position is responsible for designing databases and ensuring their stability, reliability and performance. The position works with other application developers, primarily supporting their database development needs by designing, developing, debugging and optimizing database tables, views, stored procedures, functions, triggers, indexes and complex queries. The position is also responsible for contributing ideas and advice to improve application design and functionality.
General Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide support to other TRG Departments as directed.
Participate as a response member for immediate emergency response deployment as needed.
Be available for planned and unplanned exercises as directed.
Respond to / answer all TRG & Client communications.
Develop proficiency in IAP Software and a basic understanding of other TRG products and services.
Develop and ensure accurate and professional deliverables for clients.
Acquire and maintain a basic understanding of TRG products and services.
Position Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Collect, clarify, and document business requirements.
Analyze data and design databases to effectively store, process and query data.
Perform problem-solving of application issues and production errors, including high level critical production issues that require immediate attention.
Provide technical documentation as needed.
Maintain client confidence and protect confidentiality of information.
Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
Serve at the direction of the Vice President of Software Development and perform additional duties as required.
Working Conditions:
Prolonged computer use in an office environment.
Regularly required to lift up to 10 pounds, frequently lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally required lifting up to 50 pounds.
Vision requirements include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
Noise level in the environment is moderate.
The position may require extended hours beyond the normal working hours to meet company objectives.
Up to 10% of travel may be required throughout both domestic and international
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in SQL database development using MS SQL Server, writing stored procedures, functions and complex queries.
1+ years of experience developing reports with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services.
Experience with common MS SQL Server database administration tasks.
Web and/or mobile application development experience with .Net, C#, HTML/JavaScript a plus.
Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
Ability to acquire a thorough knowledge of applications, systems and tools utilized at The Response Group.
Ability to work independently as well as in a small team environment and accomplish assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
Ability to adapt quickly to changes in application requirements.
Education:
BS or BA Degree in Software Engineering or related field required; or
2-year College Degree or Training Certification with 3-year experience in related field
