Job DescriptionFire Systems Project Manager - Fire Alarm / Detection / Suppression SystemsLocation: Michigan CityWe are seeking a Fire Systems Project Manager to support large-scale construction and infrastructure projects focused on fire alarm, detection, suppression, and life safety systems across complex mission critical environments.This role will oversee fire protection scopes including fire alarms, detection systems, suppression systems, and associated fire protection plumbing infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing fire/life safety projects within active construction environments while coordinating closely with field teams, subcontractors, engineers, and clients.ResponsibilitiesManage the full lifecycle of fire protection and life safety projects from preconstruction through commissioning and closeoutOversee installation and coordination of:Fire alarm systemsFire detection systemsFire suppression systemsSprinkler and fire protection piping systemsLife safety infrastructure and related controlsCoordinate with clients, AHJs, subcontractors, engineers, vendors, and field personnel throughout project executionManage project schedules, budgets, procurement, RFIs, submittals, and change ordersEnsure systems are installed in accordance with code requirements, project specifications, and safety standardsSupport testing, inspections, commissioning, and final turnover activitiesCoordinate closely with MEP, controls, electrical, and construction teams to maintain project schedulesIdentify and resolve technical and field-related issues proactivelyLead project meetings and provide regular updates to internal and external stakeholders Qualifications5+ years of experience managing fire protection or fire systems projectsStrong understanding of:Fire alarm systemsDetection and notification systemsFire suppression systemsSprinkler systems and fire protection plumbingLife safety codes and compliance requirementsExperience within commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or large infrastructure construction environments preferredFamiliarity with NFPA standards and coordination with local AHJsAbility to manage multiple subcontractors and project scopes simultaneouslyStrong communication, leadership, and organizational skillsExperience with systems such as Simplex, Notifier, Siemens, Edwards, Honeywell, Victaulic, or similar platforms/products is preferredNICET certification is a plusBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred but not required Preferred BackgroundsCandidates may come from fire protection contractors, life safety integrators, MEP contractors, or large-scale commercial and industrial construction projects with significant fire protection scopes.Experience supporting mission-critical facilities, data centers, manufacturing plants, airports or healthcare environments is highly desirable.What We're Looking ForWe are looking for a technically strong and detail-oriented Project Manager who can successfully lead fire and life safety scopes while maintaining strong coordination between field teams, subcontractors, engineers, and clients.
