MSO FIELD TECHNOLOGIST - CONTROL SYSTEMS TECH

Summary:The MSO Field Technologist - Control Systems Techs are responsible for ensuring process equipment for the water and wastewater plants, and associated facilities are functioning properly including maintaining communication, monitoring and control via the plant SCADA system.Responsibilities:Control Systems Techs are also responsible for troubleshooting, configuring and repairing field devices. Installing and maintaining communication and networking systems necessary for integration of remote processors. Working with operations and maintenance in diagnosing issues related to plant processes and motor control centers. Reading, writing and troubleshooting programmable logic controllers and automation control ladder logic. Administration and configuration of SCADA system and associated hardware. Installation and maintenance of various security monitoring and access systems. Additionally Control Systems Techs conduct project based work to design and implement a variety of improvements throughout the facilities. Required to hold on-call to respond to emergencies.Qualifications:HS diploma/GED required, supplemented with training in chemistry, biology, maintenance, electrical, mechanical, process automation, treatment operations, engineering, technology or a related field. At least two years of technical or scientific experience preferred and/or a minimum of one year experience directly related to instrumentation/controls systems and/or operations of treatment plants. Must obtain KDHE Class IV water or wastewater operator certification, ABC Class III Maintenance certification or ISA CST certification within 24 months. Must possess a valid Kansas driver's license.
