Solar Technician

Job Description Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background understanding of both AC and DC circuits, along with the ability to read and interpret technical documents such as blueprints and control system drawings. The technician will perform troubleshooting, inspections, and repairs on solar panels, inverters, transformers, and SCADA equipment. Additionally, the Integration Technician will maintain accurate documentation of work performed, adhere to safety protocols, and collaborate effectively with team members to ensure project success. Flexibility for on-call support and a commitment to quality workmanship are essential for this role.ResponsibilitiesRecognizes safety hazards and follows safety guidelines for personal protection, protection of fellow workers and the public. Reads and interprets instruction manuals, blueprints and control system drawings; applies knowledge to daily tasks under the supervision of the Lead Electrician. Completes written and electronic records (i.e. work orders, calibration sheets, time cards, material requests) required to document the work in progress and as it is completed. Repair, test, troubleshoot, inspect; and install, remove, and maintain solar site equipment such as solar panels, inverters, transformers, breakers, switchgear, and SCADA equipment. Be available for after-hours and weekend callouts/shifts as needed. Perform assigned duties as an individual or team member during all phases of assembly, integration, and testing. Make basic layouts on parts or assemblies to establish reference points and check dimensionsMust be capable of visualizing CAD drawings and understanding symbols, flag notes, and general notesPerform other duties as required. RequirementsHigh School Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of two (2) years' experience in commercial or industrial solar electric maintenance in the repair, inspection, testing, installation and/or maintenance of related electrical/electronic equipment. Additional Qualifications:Knowledge of electricity, voltage, and current relationships for both AC and DC circuits. Valid Drivers's license in good standing, issued by state of residence. Ability to push, pull, bend, stand, stoop, lift, carry, reach, climb, hear, see, and work on ladders for extended periods with hands and arms at heights to install and troubleshoot equipment.
