The Speech-Language Pathologist evaluates, diagnoses, and provides therapy for students with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders while collaborating with teachers, parents, and school staff to support student communication and academic success.Position DetailsLocation: Brooks, GAPay: Starting at $51/hrSchedule: Hours may varySchool Year: 26/27 QualificationsBachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.Valid Professional Standards Commission approved certificate in Speech-Language Pathology.Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Ability to work effectively with students, parents, staff, and the community.Experience in an educational setting.Skills & ExperienceStrong knowledge of speech, voice, fluency, and language disorders.Ability to conduct assessments and diagnose communication impairments.Ability to develop and implement individualized therapy programs.Strong collaboration skills when working with teachers, administrators, and support staff.Ability to maintain detailed documentation and student records.Ability to communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and needs.Understanding of IDEA regulations and special education processes.ResponsibilitiesStudent Assessment & TherapyProvide thorough assessment and diagnosis of speech, voice, fluency, and language impairments.Develop and implement individualized therapy programs to meet student needs.Provide therapeutic services to reduce or eliminate speech and language impairments that impact educational performance.Maintain ongoing documentation and progress records for students receiving services.Individualized Education Program (IEP) SupportAttend Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and collaborate with the Student Support Team regarding student services.Develop Individualized Educational Plans for students with disabilities in accordance with state and federal regulations.Maintain a list of referred, screened, and eligible students receiving speech and language services.Collaboration & ConsultationServe as a resource to school staff in the development of programs supporting oral communication and speech improvement.Assist and guide teachers in observing, identifying, and referring students with suspected speech or language impairments.Collaborate with classroom teachers and school staff to integrate therapy strategies into daily classroom activities.Provide information, support, and counseling to parents and families when appropriate.Provide professional development and consultation to teachers and staff on speech and language improvement strategies.Program ManagementMaintain a directory of outside agencies, consultants, specialists, and related services.Compile case history data including family, health, developmental, and environmental history when appropriate.Ensure compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and related regulations.Perform other duties as assigned in support of the program.Work EnvironmentSchool-based educational setting.Requires collaboration with teachers, administrators, special education staff, and families.Participation in IEP meetings, professional development, and school-related activities as required.Total hours may vary (approx. 40 hours)\n\nIDEAL JOB ID: 307612About iDEAL HireiDEAL HIRE is dedicated to working with the best of the best in healthcare and education.
