Formulation & Technical Data Specialist
Overview
As Formulation & Technical Data Specialist, you will curate and validate formulation data and technical documentation to power the Formulation Intelligence capabilities. You will manage supplier and internal formulations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and current guidance across the data lifecycle. You will collaborate with commercial, technical, and R&D stakeholders to maintain data quality and support governance. This hybrid role offers the chance to influence formulation science applications across industries and contribute to an data-driven Product Intelligence platform.

ResponsibilitiesGather formulation data and technical documentation from suppliers, including compositions, ratios, processing parameters, and guidanceCatalog internal formulations with complete records of components, methods, and applicationsLoad data for the Formulation Intelligence module following data standardsValidate data post-scrubbing, ensuring accuracy of components, proportions, steps, and parametersMaintain documentation freshness and reflect updated formulation guidanceMonitor authorizations/deauthorizations and keep formulations aligned with portfolioEstablish and enforce data standards, classification, and quality policies across the data lifecycleCollaborate with commercial, technical sales, and R&D teams to verify internal data and proprietary docsValidate content quality within the Formulation Intelligence module and address gaps or inaccuraciesSupport rollout and adoption of the module across regions, including training and onboardingAssist in training new hires to leverage formulation data for customer-facing discussions
Key requirements2–4 years in a chemistry or chemical industry role with exposure to formulation scienceDeep knowledge of chemical formulations, components, processing conditions, and variable effectsAbility to read and evaluate SDS, TDS, formulation sheets, and processing guidesStrong attention to detail and data integrityEffective communication with supplier contacts and internal stakeholdersHands-on laboratory or applied formulation experience preferredFamiliarity with end-market formulation practices (coatings, adhesives, personal care, pharma, etc.) preferredExperience with PIM systems or similar data management platforms preferredBackground in data entry, validation, or data quality assurance preferredExposure to chemical distribution or raw material supply chains preferredExperience delivering technical training content preferreddetail-orienteddata-drivencollaborativeformulation scienceprocessing parametersSDS, TDS interpretation
