Job Description — Management Analyst I (MA I) / Peer Support GSS Classification: Management Analyst I Functional Title: Peer Support Specialist Work Location: New Castle, DE 19720 Work Type: Onsite End Date: Open / Not specified (expected to be 6 months to 1 year) Schedule: 1 day per week (weekend), 8 hours Weekend Work: Yes Pay Rate: $20/hr (W2) Position Overview: The Peer Support Specialist is an individual with lived experience with mental illness, addiction, co-occurring conditions, and/or recovery who supports others facing similar challenges. The role provides peer-based recovery support and transition assistance, helping individuals build skills and resources needed to live independently and productively in the community under the DHSS behavioral health program. Key Responsibilities Provide peer recovery support based on lived experience Support individuals transitioning between levels of care Assist clients in developing independent living and community skills Interview clients, families, and related parties to obtain case history Identify, document, and advocate for client needs and barriers Maintain an assigned caseload and provide ongoing support Prepare narrative reports and contact documentation Partner with family, providers, and support networks for recovery coordination Assist with benefit or service application forms when needed Conduct routine follow-up calls with clients Minimum Qualifications: Applicant must be at least 18 years of age. Must have a High School Diploma or GED. Applicant must have direct personal experience living with mental illness and/or addiction and recovery.
