Job Title – Litigation AttorneyLocation – Orange, CA 92868Starting Salary – $170,000 – $215,000JOB #. GUSCAPHYJob Details:Responsible for all aspects of case management and presenting cases at trial and arbitration.An experienced attorney with in-depth knowledge of medicine, law and issues related to medical malpractice litigation with the skill to develop effective case strategy.Responsibilities:Work with the trial attorney and actively participates in: Formulating discovery and investigation strategyObtaining concurrence with Claims Specialist on defense preparationPreparing pleadingsPreparing and responding to discoveryAttending court appearancesPreparing lawsuits for trial/arbitrationPreparing motions as requestedShare knowledge and information with all attorneysEnsure cost effective work-up and overall defense of assignmentsRespond to “hotline” inquiries from the Claims DepartmentAssist trial/lead attorneys with preparation of reports to Claims at all stages of litigation to ensure timely reporting and completion of case work-upComply with the Defense Attorney GuidelinesRepresent CAP/MPT physicians at deposition in “Depo-only” cases Education and/or Experience: J.D. Degree3 years medical malpractice litigation experienceLicense to practice law in California
