Software Development EngineerCloudFit Software is seeking a Software Development Engineer with experience in developing cloud-based applications and working within small, agile development teams. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to take ownership of key feature areas in a product(s), from reviewing upcoming work items to driving them to a successful release.As a Software Development Engineer, you will tackle complex problems within system and architectural boundaries and work closely with customers to validate feature requirements, ensuring the highest level of customer service. The ideal candidate will have a passion for learning new technologies and adapting to the evolving needs of the company and its customers.Responsibilities:Take ownership of product features from backlog to support and maintenanceApply engineering best practices throughout all phases of a project lifecycle, including daily stand-ups, code reviews, source code management, deployment processes, and production code supportCommunicate effectively with users, engineers, and management to translate requirements into deployable softwareActively participate in engineering meetings and cross-team mentoring activitiesParticipate in an on-call rotation for production platform supportNegotiate trade-offs between software quality and time to marketTravel to support customers in air-gapped environmentsRequired Qualifications:6+ months of professional application development experience in a modern software development roleFamiliarity with full-stack development and basic knowledge of computer science fundamentals like object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithmsExperience in a customer-facing role, providing technical evaluationsFamiliarity with agile environments and tools like Jira or Azure DevOpsBasic understanding of SOLID principles and programming fundamentalsExperience with REST APIs and single-page applicationsKnowledge of server (microservice) and monolith architecturesProficiency in unit and integration testingTools/Languages:Experience with developing cloud-native applications and familiarity with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCPKnowledge of software developer tools like Java, Node.js, .NET, React, and C#Basic understanding of containerization and orchestration tools like Docker/KubernetesPreferred Qualifications:Basic understanding of application instrumentation and monitoring systemsAwareness of cloud and data storage design patternsCloud and DevOps certificationsA degree in Computer Science or related fieldThe salary range for this role is $44,000 - $100,000 + benefits, & perks.Please note the national salary range listed in the job posting reflects the new hire salary range across levels and U.S. locations that would be applicable to the position. Final salary will be commensurate with the candidate's final level and location.
