Steele Hyundai Kyle is seeking a hands-on Automotive Controller who is a self-starting, process-driven financial leader ready to take full ownership of a dealership’s accounting operation from day one. This is not a passive reporting role- this is for someone who is ready to step onto the floor, take control of the numbers, build structure, and drive financial discipline across the store.

Compensation-: $80,000-$105,000

What You’ll Do
As the Controller, you will be the financial backbone of the dealership. You will own the accounting process end-to-end and ensure the store operates with accuracy, compliance, and strong financial controls.
Your responsibilities include:
Prepare financial statements and submit them within established timelines
Interpret and analyze financial statements to support business decisions
Manage daily accounting operations to ensure compliance with dealership accounting processes and policies
Prepare and submit required reports and statements
Lead and develop accounting staff, ensuring corporate responsibilities and initiatives are met
Safeguard store assets through proper internal controls
Train and mentor future accounting leaders
What You Bring
Minimum of 2 years of automotive dealership accounting or corporate controller experience
Strong working knowledge of dealership financial reconciliations/statements, schedules, and month-end processes
Experience with dealership DMS systems (PBS experience is a strong asset)
High attention to detail with the ability to see both the numbers and the business behind them
A proactive, self-motivated mindset- you take initiative and solve problems without waiting to be told
Leadership ability with a track record of training, guiding, and holding teams accountable
Strong communication skills and confidence to work with department heads and executives
