Overview
As Global Capital Projects Engineer, you lead critical, technically-inclined capital projects focused on power and cooling for datacenters, labs, and specialty spaces, while guiding lifecycle upgrades of building infrastructure. You shape design and operations standards within Cisco’s Corporate Real Estate group, collaborating with cross-functional teams to advance energy efficiency and sustainability. You’ll drive innovation, set technical standards, and influence project decisions at scale. This role offers impact across global facilities and strategic infrastructure initiatives.

ResponsibilitiesMechanical & electrical oversight on capital infrastructure projectsProvide technical leadership and strategy for infrastructure equipment design and selectionServe as technical expert within the global corporate Real Estate team for problem solving and maintenance excellenceCoordinate with stakeholders to embed changes into design standardsIncorporate energy efficiency and sustainability into designs to support Net Zero goalsEvaluate technical performance, lead-time, and cost trade-offsChampion new product designs to meet Cisco objectives
Key requirementsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with at least 5 years of post-graduate experienceStrong understanding of mechanical and electrical infrastructure equipment deployed in corporate facilitiesProven ability to drive design standards and document equipment specificationsExperience with cost-reduction activities for existing designsKnowledge of industry standard project management softwareStrong leadership and team coordinationExcellent communication and stakeholder managementAbility to work cross-functionally and influence peersInfrastructure equipment design and selectionEnergy efficiency and sustainability integration in mechanical and electrical designsExperience with datacenter environments
