Cloud Engineer (AWS)Hybrid/Remote Contract to hire role (more remote once full-time)Our client, a growing organization modernizing its cloud footprint, is looking for a hands-on Cloud Engineer to join their cloud engineering group and help build, automate, and support cloud-native solutions within their AWS environment.This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working across cloud infrastructure, serverless applications, APIs, automation, and CI/CD pipelines. You'll partner closely with Cloud Engineering, Application Development, Security, and Release Engineering teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and automated solutions that support business-critical applications.Success in this role requires strong AWS experience, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to bridge both infrastructure and application development teams.What You'll DoDesign, build, and support AWS-based cloud solutionsDevelop and maintain serverless applications using AWS Lambda and API GatewayBuild and maintain infrastructure using Terraform, AWS SAM, and CloudFormationDevelop and support REST APIs and integration servicesCreate and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub ActionsSupport containerized workloads running in ECS/Fargate environmentsDevelop automation and tooling using Python, Node.js, or JavaTroubleshoot production issues across applications, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and deployment pipelinesMonitor and improve application reliability, performance, and observabilityPartner with development teams to implement cloud-native architecture patterns and best practicesContribute to reusable infrastructure templates, deployment standards, and automation frameworksLeverage AI-powered engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, and similar technologies to improve productivity and accelerate developmentRequired Qualifications3+ years of hands-on AWS engineering experienceExperience building and supporting solutions using AWS LambdaExperience working with API Gateway and REST APIsExperience with Infrastructure as Code concepts and tools, preferably TerraformExperience using AWS SAM and/or CloudFormationExperience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub ActionsDevelopment or scripting experience with Python, Node.js, or JavaStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities across both infrastructure and application layersExperience supporting production cloud environmentsStrong communication and collaboration skillsExperience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar platformsPreferred QualificationsECS/Fargate experienceDocker or containerization experienceJava/Spring Boot experienceOAuth 2.0 and application authentication experienceDynamoDB, PostgreSQL, or RDS experienceCloudWatch, Dynatrace, OpenTelemetry, or related observability toolsAWS certificationsContract to hire role and open to candidates in Arizona, South Carolina and Westchester County NY
