Student - Software Development Team Member – e2i Program

Position Announcement About e2i: Education 2 Impact (e2i) offers students the opportunity to work within interdisciplinary teams while gaining paid, hands-on experience. Projects are provided by companies or entrepreneurial UVU students, and teams are assembled to work under the guidance of a student project manager to complete these projects—mirroring real-world industry practices. Each project typically lasts between 8 and 12 weeks, giving team members a condensed, high-impact professional experience. Position Announcement: The e2i program is seeking motivated Software Development Team Members to support real-world client projects. Team members contribute across the software development lifecycle, including front-end, back-end, full-stack, and quality assurance (QA) work. You'll collaborate with a cross-functional, interdisciplinary team under the guidance of a student project manager to design, build, test, and deliver working software to industry standards. Team members will be paid $15 per hour. Specific assignments will be matched to your strengths and interests. The Supplemental Questions below help us identify where you're the best fit. Summary of Responsibilities Responsibilities vary by project and specialization, and may include: Front-End: Building responsive, accessible user interfaces and translating designs into functional code. Back-End: Designing data models and APIs, implementing business logic, and documenting technical requirements. Full-Stack: Integrating front-end and back-end components, including authentication and third-party service integration. QA: Writing test plans, performing usability and validation testing, and delivering clear feedback reports. All roles: Collaborating across specializations to keep work in sync, applying version control and documentation best practices, and communicating progress and blockers clearly to the team Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications Must be a current student at Utah Valley University, preferably studying computer science, software engineering, web development, information systems, or a related field. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Strong organizational skills and ability to meet project deadlines. Clear communication about technical work verbally and in writing. Experience or coursework in one or more of the following: front-end development, back-end development, full-stack development, or software QA/testing.
