The CRNA Anesthetist provides anesthesia services at VCU Medical Center for all age groups.Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:Current RN license in VirginiaCurrent license to practice in specialty area (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist-CRNA) in VirginiaCurrent CRNA certification by the National Board on Certification/Recertification of Nurse AnesthetistsLicensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment:Current RN License in VirginiaCurrent license in Virginia to practice in specialty area (CRNA)Complete 40 CEU’s every 2 yearsCredentialing in accordance with medical staff by-laws for specific job titleExperience REQUIRED:None requiredExperience PREFERRED:Academic health care experienceOne (1) year within the specialty practice areaEducation/training REQUIRED:Masters Degree in Nursing from an accredited program specific to area of practice**Applicants with current advanced practice licensure may be within one semester of graduation from obtaining a MSN Degree or higher, which must be completed within six months of hire to continue employment.Education/training PREFERRED: N/AIndependent action(s) required:Must possess knowledge of local, federal and state laws and regulations and The Joint Commission (TJC) standards related to position’s chief objective and demonstrate aptitude for compliance with VCUHS policies, procedures and customer services philosophy.Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): N/AAdditional position requirements: Work all shiftsAge Specific groups served: All
