We invite you to experience the Nexion culture and grow with us.Job Summary:The Respiratory Care Practitioner skillfully administers respiratory care modalities based on the individual needs of the residents in accordance with physician orders and standards set forth in the respiratory care policy and procedure manual. The Respiratory Care Practitioner's duties include, but are not limited to:Job responsibilites:Cardiopulmonary resuscitationOperation, maintenance and management of mechanical ventilatorsPatient transportation (internal and external)Drawing blood for arterial blood gas analysis and interruptionAerolized drug administrationOxygen therapy/humidity therapyContinuous positive airway pressure therapy (CPAP/BiPAP)Pulse oximetryCapnography (side stream and main stream)Specialized pulmonary function testingIntermittent positive pressure ventilation (1PPB)Incentive spirometryChest physiotherapy, airway clearance techniques and alternative airway maneuversPatient assessmentParticipate in floor round monitoringOperation of all equipment in accordance with department policyQuality control of all equipmentActive participation in the departments Quality Assurance programEquipment disinfectionParticipation in in-service education programApnea monitoringCommunication skillsMeter dose inhaler medication administrationAny other assignment as delegated by SupervisorPosition Qualifications:Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)RN or LVN/LPN with Respiratory ExperienceGood physical and mental healthManual dexterity for manipulation of instrumentsand equipmentPhysical assessment skillsMust work with others in a positive mannerKnowledge of current standards of respiratorypractice and of basic safety rulesExcellent Compensation and Benefits:100% Paid Vacation/Sick, Voluntary Medical, Dental, Vision, FSA, 401k, LT/ST Disability, Life Insurance and AD&D.
