Senior Manager, Project Finance & Capital Markets

Our client is a leading North American energy storage and distributed infrastructure platform focused on accelerating the transition to a cleaner, more resilient electric grid. They develop, finance, own, and operate battery energy storage and distributed generation assets.They are seeking a Senior Manager, Project Finance & Capital Markets to support the execution and optimization of financing activities across a growing portfolio of energy storage and distributed energy assets. This individual will play a key role in structuring, modeling, negotiating, and executing a wide range of project financings, including: tax equity, construction debt, term debt, HoldCo/mezzanine financing, leases, and other structured capital solutions.This is a highly visible position working closely with senior leadership, lenders, tax equity investors, legal advisors, accounting teams, and development stakeholders throughout the full transaction lifecycle.Key ResponsibilitiesCapital Markets & Transaction ExecutionSupport execution of project financing transactions across utility-scale and distributed energy storage portfolios.Lead the structuring and negotiating of tax equity financings, construction and term debt, back leverage facilities, HoldCo and mezzanine financings, and lease structures.Coordinate transaction processes from evaluation through financial close.Partner with internal and external legal, tax, accounting, and financing counterparties to drive efficient transaction execution.Assist in preparation and negotiation of financing term sheets, diligence materials, investment memoranda, lender presentations, and transaction documentation.Support financial close processes, including management of approvals, diligence workstreams, and closing deliverables under tight transaction timelines.Financial Modeling & ValuationBuild, maintain, and enhance complex project finance and valuation models across storage and distributed infrastructure assets.Analyze project economics, financing structures, and portfolio-level investment returnsEvaluate financing alternatives and assess impacts of merchant exposure, contracted revenue streams, capacity revenues, and energy market dynamics.Develop and maintain defensible valuation assumptions and methodologies across operational and development-stage assets.Support portfolio forecasting, investment analysis, and strategic capital allocation initiatives.Strategic & Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner closely with Development, Procurement, Asset Management, Legal, Tax, Accounting, Project Execution, and external advisors.Assist in implementation of risk management and hedging strategies where appropriateSupport senior leadership in evaluating strategic financing initiatives and capital formation opportunities.Serve as a key liaison between internal teams and financing counterparties to ensure alignment throughout transaction processes.Candidate ProfileBachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Mathematics, or related discipline.5-10+ years of experience in renewable energy project finance, infrastructure finance, investment banking, private equity, or related transactional environments.Strong understanding of tax equity structures, debt financing, project valuation, and structured infrastructure transactions.Prior exposure to battery energy storage, renewables, distributed infrastructure, or power markets strongly preferred.Advanced financial modeling capability with strong analytical and quantitative skills.Experience managing transaction processes and coordinating across multiple stakeholder groups.Ability to work effectively within fast-paced, entrepreneurial, transaction-oriented environments.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly to senior stakeholders.Preferred:Experience with HoldCo/mezzanine financing structures.Familiarity with merchant and contracted power market revenue structures.Prior mentorship or informal team leadership experience.Master’s degree and/or CFA preferred.
