F.W. Webb, Northeast’s largest wholesale distributor of plumbing, heating, HVAC and industrial supplies is seeking a full-time Programmer Analyst for its Corporate Office location in Bedford, MA. F.W. Webb is a large and growing distribution company with stores throughout the Northeast states. The IT department at Webb is involved in every aspect of the company’s business: order entry, warehousing, accounting, delivery, customer sales, e-commerce, pricing, business development, and marketing. As a programmer at Webb, you will encounter a wide variety of projects and problems to solve. Your contribution will be felt as you build out new solutions and improve and maintain existing ones. We are looking for a candidate with strong, full-stack web application experience, including experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, REST API integrations, and MVC and object-oriented coding practices. The custom ERP system at Webb is built in the Universe database and development environment. Since the ERP is integral to the business, you will be asked to learn and work in this system in addition to building web applications. Business acumen is also valuable, since every project is tied to a business need, and you will interact with other departments at times when solving a business issue. Responsibilities: Provide work estimates for completion of tasks. Build frontend web applications using React, Redux, TypeScript, Bootstrap 5 Build backend API endpoints and middleware in Node.js and the Universe environment. QA own work and others employees code changes and build automated tests. Qualifications: Sound analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills. Ability to communicate effectively. Work as a self-starter and follow department processes and procedures. Have a strong work ethic and be able to adjust work schedule to meet deadlines. Ability to learn quickly, and to take a project from beginning to end. Willingness and ability to work with and modernize the legacy ERP system to meet fast-moving business requirements Knowledge, experience, and interest in distribution business processes and challenges is desired. BS or BA.
