You’ll play a key role in building, maintaining, and supporting advanced electronic systems while collaborating closely with engineers and production teams.Job OverviewAs an Electronic Systems Assembler II, you will perform a variety of electronic and electro-mechanical assembly tasks on assemblies and sub-assemblies. You will determine or follow methods and sequences for wiring, component installation, hand soldering, and cable harness assembly, ensuring that all work meets blueprint specifications and quality standards. You’ll also support prototype builds, perform troubleshooting, and help maintain high standards throughout the production process.ResponsibilitiesPerform precision soldering and de-soldering on printed wiring assemblies (PWAs). Install electronic components including Integrated Circuits (ICs), Connectors, Resistors, Capacitors, Jumpers, & Surface mount componentsPerform rework and repair of existing PWAs, including component replacementPerform advanced mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies.Operate hand and power tools to complete assemblies.Build and install cable harnesses.Support engineering prototype buildsRead and interpret work instructions, blueprints, and electrical schematicsPerform standard testing and troubleshooting to ensure proper functionalityCollaborate with management and team members to maintain effective communication on the production floorEnsure quality standards are consistently met at every step of assemblyQualificationsProven experience with electronic assembly and soldering of PWAs/PCBsExperience with IC installation, connector soldering, and component reworkAbility to work under microscope or magnification of componentsAbility to read assembly prints, blueprints, and electrical schematicsKnowledge of cable routing, harness configuration, soldering, wiring, and crimping standardsAdvanced assembly skills and experience with inspection and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical systemsStrong mechanical and electrical background with knowledge of both historical and current manufacturing practices7+ years of relevant assembly experienceHigh School Diploma or equivalentU.S. Citizen (required for U.S. Government contract work)Why Join Ampex?At Ampex, you’ll be part of a team that embraces innovation, teamwork, and a dynamic work environment.
