Role Overview:
This position is responsible for general track repairs and new construction including but not limited to replacing rail, ties, spreading rock, vegetation control, snow removal, and other related railroad tasks.
Typical schedule during production season is Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM with 1 - 2 Saturdays per month. The typical schedule during maintenance season is Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM with Saturday as needed. Hours may vary depending on weather and customer demand.
Starting wage is $22.00/HR and up depending on experience.
Duties and/or Responsibilities:
Follow direction and accomplish assigned tasks within time standards with minimal supervision
Use a variety of tools safely and proficiently, including, but not limited to pneumatic and hydraulic tools, grinders, jacks, cutting torches, general hand tools and drills.
Assist team members with completing their tasks, varying by the tasks at hand
Good housekeeping of all machines and work area
Learn, comprehend, and apply all new hire, safety, and on-the-job training.
Learn, comprehend, and apply FRA and company requirements
Interact professionally with crew members and management in a team environment
Comply with all safety policies
Ensure track machines are kept in good quality. Other duties may be assigned.
Must be willing to travel with overnight stays.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED.
Driver's license required.
Must be able to qualify as a valid worker under FRA standards
