This role ensures that buildings are cleaned and sanitized according to established standards, contributing to a healthy and professional atmosphere for employees, vendors and visitors.Essential Functions:Clean and sanitize restrooms, offices, classrooms, common areas, and breakroomsSweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floorsEmpty trash and recycling bins and dispose of waste properlyDust furniture, fixtures, and equipmentClean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrorsRestock cleaning and sanitation supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper, etc.)Maintain janitor closets & equipment in a clean, organized, and safe manner.Must understand and follow company safety policies.Must be able to adhere to the responsibilities and physical requirements of the job.Must be able to follow oral and written instructions, prioritize tasks, and work effectively with a team.Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools safelyFollow cleaning schedules, checklists, and safety proceduresProper labeling, dilution and use of all chemicals.Lifting, loading, unfolding and moving tables, chair, materials, and other equipment as needed.Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages to supervisorsComply with health, safety, and environmental regulationsAddition Responsibilities:Safety MindedEthical ConductAbility to communicate clearly and accurately.Results DrivenTeam OrientedQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent preferredPrevious custodial or cleaning experience is an assetAbility to work independently and manage time effectivelyKnowledge of cleaning chemicals, tools, and safe handling proceduresStrong attention to detail and commitment to cleanlinessReliable, punctual, and professional demeanorPhysical Requirements:Ability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periodsComfortable working with cleaning chemicals and equipmentAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.Requires repetitive bending, stooping, standing, walking, twisting, and squatting.Ability to use a step stool.Must be able to stand from six (6) to eight (8) hours per day.Good visual and spatial perception.Follow established safety policies including, but not limited to, mobile equipment, PPE, emergency response, HAZCOM, first-aid response, etc.Other Duties:Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required by the employee for this job.
