Position: Senior Security Engineer (Python Backend / Full Stack) - ONLY W2 (USC/GC)Location: Johnston,IAAssessment: Glider TestPosition Overview:We are seeking a Senior Security Engineer to help secure its next generation of connected vehicles. This role focuses on developing secure Python-based backend infrastructure while implementing security solutions for embedded systems, vehicle networks, and cloud-connected services. The ideal candidate is a strong Python full-stack developer with backend expertise and a solid understanding of embedded security, rather than someone primarily focused on cloud security.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop Python-based backend services supporting secure connected vehicle platforms.Define and review security architectures for embedded systems, cloud services, and mobile applications.Design and implement cryptographic security controls for embedded environments.Develop secure key management and access control mechanisms for resource-constrained devices.Build and enhance security solutions supporting autonomous vehicle technologies.Collaborate with embedded software, electrical systems, and cloud engineering teams.Influence architecture, secure development practices, and risk management across multiple product lines.Required Qualifications8+ years of software development experience with strong Python backend development.Full-stack development experience with emphasis on backend infrastructure.Experience working with Linux operating systems and distributions.Strong knowledge of cryptographic security controls for embedded systems.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.Preferred QualificationsExperience developing and securing IoT devices.Strong PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) knowledge, including:Certificate lifecycle managementKey generation, storage, and protectionCertificate provisioning and renewalExperience in a DevOps environment and CI/CD security practices.Experience developing AWS-native applications and cloud security solutions.Familiarity with connected vehicles, autonomous systems, or edge computing environments.
