Job Description
Salary: $18 - $25 /hourPosition OverviewEminent Technical Solutions (ETS) is seeking a Structured Cabling Technician to support installation and maintenance of structured cabling systems across our client environments.Structured Cabling Technicians assist with data cabling projects, perform work according to project scope and plans, and install, troubleshoot, repair, and terminate Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6, coaxial, and fiber optic cable.This role requires the ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, and equipment specifications. Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential for coordinating with other ETS team members and building strong relationships with clients.Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:Coordinate project schedules with customers and internal teamsPrepare for installations by reviewing project documentation and gathering tools, equipment, and materialsPlan installations by evaluating locations, identifying access points, and determining wiring layoutsInstall structured cabling systems including Cat5/5e/6, coaxial, and fiber optic cablingPull, route, terminate, and label cables according to industry standards and project plansProgram, configure, and calibrate equipment as neededTest systems and connections to verify proper functionalityDiagnose and resolve cabling or connectivity issuesMaintain accurate documentation of installations, service work, and repairsCommunicate effectively with customers to address questions or concernsMaintain strong customer relationships through professional serviceFollow safe work practices and maintain a safe work environmentManage inventory of tools, supplies, and materials as neededIdentify opportunities to improve project outcomes and deliver additional value to clientsJob RequirementsValid drivers licenseAbility to pass criminal background and MVR (driving record) screeningAbility to pass a pre-employment drug screeningAbility to lift up to 70 poundsAbility to climb ladders up to 40 feetComfortable working at heights (tower climbing experience preferred)Willingness to travel within Utah and Southern IdahoDesired SkillsSuccessful candidates typically demonstrate:Strong analytical and troubleshooting skillsExcellent interpersonal and customer service skillsCreative problem-solving abilitiesStrong written and verbal communicationEffective time management and organizational skillsManual dexterity for installation and repair workAbility to work independently and as part of a teamExperience & CertificationsETS values candidates with diverse backgrounds and hands-on technical experience.
