Quality Inspector-2nd shift

Job Summary This is a fully onsite Quality Inspector role (2nd shift) located in Cleveland, OH. The position requires vigilance, precision, and proactive communication with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure products meet the highest standards. Responsibilities Perform first article inspections, receiving inspections, in-process audits, and final inspections as directed. Verify product conformance to engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. Conduct random quality audits throughout the production floor to enforce established processes and standards. Support manufacturing operations by identifying quality concerns and communicating findings to production, engineering, and quality teams. Assist in the development and maintenance of CMM, Vision System, and Contour Trace programs and inspection layouts. Create and maintain inspection plans, control plans, and related quality documentation. Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records. Participate in corrective action investigations and follow-up activities as required. Support Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and process capability studies. Compile, analyze, and enter inspection data into computer systems. Prepare charts, graphs, and reports used for quality and process improvement initiatives. Assist with internal audits and continuous improvement projects. Provide support for special inspection or validation activities as needed. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree, technical certification, or related coursework in Quality, Manufacturing, or Engineering preferred. Experience: Minimum one year of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience inspecting precision-machined components preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T); ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications; experience using precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment; ability to prioritize tasks and effectively manage multiple responsibilities; excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities; proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel). Preferred Qualifications: ASQ Certified Mechanical Inspector (CMI), Certified Quality Technician (CQT), or similar quality certifications; exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Six Sigma methodologies. Working Environment Frequent standing and walking throughout the manufacturing facility. Regular exposure to standard manufacturing conditions, including heat, noise, machinery, and industrial odors. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally. May periodically work in the Metallurgical Laboratory environment, which includes exposure to acids, bases, and other chemicals used in sample preparation. Ability to safely operate within a manufacturing environment while following all safety requirements and procedures. Collaboration & Teamwork Work closely with production, supervision, engineering, purchasing, and quality teams to support inspections, corrective actions, process improvements, work instruction development, MSA activities, and capability studies. Interact with customers, suppliers, and external auditors in support of quality initiatives and audit activities as needed. Success Factors Thrives in a fast‐paced manufacturing environment.
