Civil Site Development Estimator
Our client is seeking an experienced Civil Site Development Estimator to join their team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial civil site development projects, with a strong emphasis on underground utilities including water, sewer, and storm drainage systems. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in sitework estimating, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with project management, operations teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed cost estimates for civil site development projects, including grading, earthwork, paving, and underground utility systemsPerform accurate quantity takeoffs from plans, specifications, and bid documentsReview project drawings and specifications to identify scope requirements and potential risksSolicit, analyze, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotationsDevelop scopes of work, budgets, and bid packages for subcontractors and vendorsAnalyze site conditions, constructability concerns, and project risks to ensure complete and competitive bidsCoordinate with project managers and operations teams during project turnover and handoffMaintain estimating databases, historical cost information, and current market pricingTrack bid outcomes and identify opportunities to improve estimating accuracy and competitivenessMaintain current knowledge of labor rates, material pricing, equipment costs, and market trendsAttend pre-bid meetings and site visits as requiredQualificationsMinimum of 5 years of estimating experience in civil site developmentStrong experience estimating underground utility work for commercial construction projectsProven ability to read and interpret civil drawings, specifications, and bid documentsExperience using estimating and takeoff software such as Agtek, HCSS, Bluebeam, or similar platformsStrong understanding of civil construction means and methods, including earthwork, grading, utilities, and pavingExcellent attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skillsAbility to manage multiple bids and meet tight deadlinesStrong written and verbal communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially ExcelPreferred QualificationsExperience working with general contractors and developers on commercial construction projectsKnowledge of local subcontractor networks, suppliers, and regional pricing trendsBackground in civil engineering, construction management, or related fieldField experience in sitework or utility construction is a big plusWork EnvironmentOffice-based with occasional site visits and pre-bid meetingsFast-paced environment with multiple concurrent deadlinesCollaborative team atmosphere focused on quality, accuracy, and project successOur ideal candidate possesses good character and work ethic as this is a Christian faith-based company.Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary based on experienceHealth, dental, and vision insurancePaid time off and holidaysRetirement plan optionsOpportunities for professional growth and advancement
