Job Title: Sybase DBA Location: Chandler, AZ (Hybrid)Salary : $110-120k/annum Role SummaryThe Sybase DBA will be responsible for day to day operations stability and availability of Sybase ASE databases in production and nonproduction environmentsThis role focuses on BAU support incident problem management proactive monitoring and change execution in line with ITIL processesMandatory Skills : Mainframe Autosys, Major incident management, ServiceNow ITSM, Shell Scripting, Sybase DBA Key Responsibilities (Operations Focus)Database Operations SupportProvide L2L3 operational support for Sybase ASE 12x 15x 16x environments across Production UAT and DRMonitor database health availability capacity and performance on a 247 basisManage database startstop space management devices segments and DB optionsPerform routine user login role and permission managementIncident Problem Change ManagementTroubleshoot and resolve database incidents s and performance issuesSupport root cause analysis RCA and problem management for recurring issuesExecute planned changes including upgrades patching refreshes and maintenance windowsAdhere to ITIL processes Incident Change Problem Service Requests using tools like ServiceNow RemedyBackup Recovery DRImplement and monitor backup and recovery strategiesPerform database restores and support DR drills and auditsEnsure backup success retention and recovery compliancePerformance StabilityPerform basic performance tuning locks waits space temp db IO bottlenecksMonitor resource usage CPU memory disk and raise proactive capacity risksSupport application teams for slow running queries and DB related issuesPlatform Environment ManagementSupport database operations on UNIX Linux Windows platformsAssist with Sybase installation configuration and patchingSupport database refreshes across environments Prod UATTest and crossplatform refreshesDocumentation GovernanceMaintain runbooks SOPs and operational documentationGenerate operational reports availability incidents backups changesSupport audits SLA, KPI reporting and compliance requirementsRequired Skills Must HaveStrong experience in Sybase ASE administration 12x 15x 16xHandson production support operations experienceBackup recovery DB refresh and troubleshooting expertiseExperience with ITIL based support models and ticketing toolsGood understanding of UNIX Linux commands and OSlevel troubleshootingAbility to work in shift based on call support modelsGood to Have SkillsSybase Replication Server Sybase IQ exposureBasic TSQL scripting and shell scripting for DBA automationExperience in BFS highly regulated environmentsExposure to monitoring tools and scheduling tools Autosys CronExperience Qualification5 to 10 years of experience as a Sybase DBA in production environments
