Kidney Specialist of Minnesota Medical AssistantKidney Specialist of Minnesota is looking to hire a full-time medical assistant to help support our providers at many of our KSM clinics.
KSM is looking for a reliable and dynamic team player, with previous clinical experience strongly preferred. Kind and responsive patient care is a must! This role is a combination of administrative tasks (calling patients, working in EMR) and direct patient care. Your work would also support our innovative value based care model, supporting eligible patients in getting access to those wraparound services.
This position requires travel and offers mileage reimbursement.
This position will have a base clinic location at the Brooklyn Center office and will travel to outreach locations in Fridley, Maple Grove, Buffalo and Mora, as well as main locations in Richfield and Roseville. Other outreach locations include Chaska, Waconia, Norwood, Cannon Valley, Shakopee, Hudson, and Hastings.
Job Description:
1. Patient Care:
Complete rooming and discharge procedures per company protocols
Obtain and record vital signs, medical histories and other patient forms
Complete accurate medication reconciliation
Ensure patient completes labs per policy
Collaborate with IOP on completion of same day lab orders
Arrange for off-site procedures as ordered by the KSM provider
Schedule patients for follow up appointments and/or lab appointments
Provide education materials to patients as instructed by the KSM provider
Review AVS (after visit summary) with patient
2. Manage Patient Medical Records:
Accurately document all information as required by company, state, and federal guidelines
Maintain patient confidentiality
Accurately database lab results into appropriate electronic medical record
Complete chart prep procedures to ensure patient visits are completed accurately, safely, and efficiently
Prepare and process lab order forms
3. Manage Clinic Operations:
Clean and stock exam rooms daily
Report any supply shortage to the Clinical Supervisor
Proactively identify safety concerns, submit incident reports, and/or discuss with the Clinical Supervisor
4. General Responsibilities:
Perform other duties as assigned and proactively identifies other tasks needing to be addressed/completed
Demonstrate professional behavior in interactions with coworkers and patients
Float to all clinics, including outreach locations
Train other clinical staff on job duties, policies, or procedure as needed
Participate in virtual huddles as scheduled
5. Skills/Qualifications:
Ability and means to travel to all clinics, including outreach locations, as needed. Mileage reimbursement available.
High school diploma
