Scismic is supporting the growth of a global food company! They are seeking a hands-on Operations Supervisor to lead microbiology testing within a fast-paced diagnostics laboratory. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing team leadership with technical execution, ensuring high-quality results and efficient lab operations.What You’ll DoOversee day-to-day laboratory activities, ensuring compliance with established procedures and quality standardsLead, coach, and support a team performing routine microbiological testingReview and validate analytical data, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepanciesCoordinate staffing schedules to meet turnaround times and operational goalsPartner with client services to communicate updates, priorities, and any delaysTrain team members on testing methods, safety protocols, and system usageMaintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and overall readiness of the testing environmentSupport continuous improvement initiatives and uphold quality system requirementsCollaborate with leadership to address workflow challenges and ensure optimal performanceStep in to assist with lab testing when needed to meet deadlinesWhat You BringBachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field (Master’s preferred)2–5 years of experience in a laboratory setting, ideally in food or diagnostic testingWorking knowledge of microbiological techniques and data interpretationFamiliarity with laboratory systems (e.g., LIMS) and quality standardsStrong leadership, organization, and communication skillsCommitment to safety and maintaining a compliant lab environmentWork EnvironmentThis role is based in a laboratory setting and involves standing for extended periods, handling lab materials, and working with standard equipment and safety protocols.
