Read further to learn how you could help make great things possible not only in your community, but around the world.HDR is seeking a Bridge EIT/Designer to join our Transportation Business Group in North Carolina. This position may be based out of our Raleigh, NC or Charlotte, NC office.In this role, we'll count on you to:Participate in bridge inspection, perform structural load calculations, and assist with geometric layout and quantity developmentApply structural engineering and detailing techniques in the development of bridge designsWork on projects that typically include bridge (steel plate girder, prestress concrete, segmental and cable) box culvert, and interchange design for highway and railway projectsSelect standard bridge engineering/design procedures, and develop structural details using specialized softwarePerform structural load calculations and assist with geometric layout and quantity developmentDevelop structural details using basic structural design and analysis software.Perform other duties as neededPreferred QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering or related fieldEngineer in Training (EIT) certificate or ability to obtain. Candidates hired without their EIT certification will have the title of Bridge Designer and will be expected to obtain their EIT certification for career progression.Experience in bridge/structural designMS Office, MathCAD and AutoCAD, LARSA and Prestress Concrete Design experienceKnowledge of Bentley OpenBridge DesignerKnowledge of and some familiarity with engineering software packages such as: MDX and SAP2000Preference given to local candidatesRequired QualificationsBachelor's degreeFamiliarity with Bluebeam Revu and knowledge of engineering software packages such as: LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB-MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, midas Civil, CSiBridge, RM Bridge, spColumn, STLBridgeLRFD, or STLBridge.Bently OpenBridge Modeler and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3dStrong understanding and hands-on use of computers for structural layout and designGood communication skills and willing to work in a team environmentAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustWhat We BelieveHDR is our company.
