As a member working in a team environment, you will take direction from the Product Engineering Lead and/or the Product Engineering Director on development and production operations activities.Aireon is certified to provide surveillance as a service to global customers in a safety-critical industry. This role is essential to the delivery of this service and will be required to reach and maintain an acceptable standard of competency. Aireon will provide initial and ongoing training to support competency standards. This is measured through assessment that is renewable annually.What You’ll DoParticipate in technical planning & requirements gathering phases including design, code, test, troubleshoot, and document software applicationsEnsure that technical software development process is followed on the project according to internal and industry best practices for software development and operational supportDocument and present design documents for project approvalDevelop and perform unit and integration testing and document resultsPerform peer code reviewsDefine measures and KPI’sUtilize key components of Aireon’s cloud ecosystem for the integrated products we launch and operatePerform analysis and troubleshooting of processing errors and data inconsistencies and provide solutionsSoftware Development Life Cycle (SDLC)Understand Data Flows and Common Data ModelParticipate in daily scrum meetings and weekly status meetings to provide a status report of work in progress or accomplished, as well as issues encounteredTrack and maintain task activities using Azure DevOps toolSupport implementation of CI/CD pipelines and test automation, as well as automate operational procedures (DevOps)Create and maintain technical documentation following Aireon’s policies and procedures for software engineeringAdapt and work with team members of various experience levels and locationsSkills, Knowledge and ExpertiseRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in MIS, computer science, math, engineering, or comparable majorPassionate developer with 5 years of application development and testing experienceAt least 7 years of demonstrable programming/testing experience in C#, .NET, and PowerShell scriptingExperience RESTful APIs and microservices in containerized environmentsExperience using Microsoft’s Azure Cloud to create and deploy applicationsWorking knowledge of geospatial data solutionsEligible to obtain SF-85P Public Trust clearanceDesired QualificationsExperience with Azure Kubernetes Service on Linux clustersExperience with Azure DevOps as a collaboration toolExperience with Azure Pipelines CI/CDHold an active Microsoft Azure certificationExperience using AI coding tools such as Github CopilotAbout YouYou are a self-starter.
