You will thrive in this role if you are a team-player, able to communicate well with the direct care staff, management and of course – senior residents that we serve in our community.Job Duties And Responsibilities Of a CookThe responsibilities of the Cook include, but are not limited to:Prepare and serve delicious, nutritious, band appetizing food to our 33+ number of senior residents. Prepares and assists in the preparations of menus, special meals to meet individual resident needs and special meetings and company events. The Cook is required to meet Federal and State health standards and codes for proper food storage, handling, and preparation. Prepares food and meals in accordance with planned menus, diet plans, portion control and sanitary procedures meeting health department standards and company policies. Checks and records food temperatures prior to serving and serves meals that are palatable, appetizing and appealing. Assures that food and supplies are available for the next meal, pulling supplies from freezer as required for the next meal preparations. Notifies Facility Administrator of needed supplies on a weekly basis. Executes the inventory counts and storage of incoming foods and supplies as requested or assigned by the Facility Administrator. Maintains a clean and safe work area, cleaning spills and pots regularly and carries out the daily and scheduled cleaning duties according to assignments. Attends and participates in training, in-services, and staff meetings. Perform other related duties as assigned. YOUR SCHEDULEThis position is a Full-time, Hourly/non-exempt position, with workdays from Saturday - Tuesday Swing Shift (3PM -11 PM) with the understanding that hours may vary dependent upon workload, Management, and resident needs. Preferable experience in an senior or assisted living setting. Meet job-related health department or state regulations by holding required state certification or service license. Must pass the Criminal Background Unit + have Valid Oregon Food Handlers CardProficient at reading written menus and direction, comprehend verbal instructions, and write at a level necessary to meet job expectations. Be able to lift 30 pounds, walk/stand 80% or more of shifts, and respond to all resident and emergency needs quickly, with or without reasonable accommodation. Flexible schedule including availability to work weekdays, weekend, and holidays. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Day Shift (7am - 3pm ) - Monday - FridaySwing Shift (3pm - 11 pm) - Sunday - Tuesday
