The work environment values collaboration, ongoing learning, and consistent application of best practices in building compliance.Role Description The Building Inspector role at Development Compliance Solutions - DEVCOM is a full-time, on-site position located in Winters, CA. This role is responsible for performing building and site inspections to verify compliance with applicable codes, ordinances, and regulations. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing construction plans, inspecting structural, plumbing, and related systems, documenting inspection findings, and issuing reports, notices, or approvals as required. The Building Inspector will communicate inspection results to contractors, developers, and property owners, provide guidance on corrective actions, and follow up on non-compliant work. The role also involves maintaining accurate inspection records, staying current with building codes and standards, and collaborating with internal teams and local authorities to support safe and compliant development.Qualifications Candidates should possess skills in Building Inspections and Inspection, with the ability to evaluate structures and systems for compliance and safety.Candidates should possess skills in Site Inspections, including assessing construction sites, work progress, and adherence to approved plans.Candidates should possess skills in Code Enforcement, with experience applying building codes, ordinances, and regulatory requirements.Candidates should possess skills in Plumbing related inspections, including basic knowledge of plumbing systems and relevant codes.Relevant qualifications include prior experience as a building or construction inspector, or in a related construction or code compliance role.Knowledge of local and state building codes, safety regulations, and inspection procedures is highly beneficial.Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to write clear inspection reports are required.Ability to work on-site, interact professionally with diverse stakeholders, and manage multiple inspections and deadlines.Relevant certifications or licenses in building inspection or code enforcement are preferred; a high school diploma or equivalent is required, and additional technical or vocational training in construction or engineering is an advantage.
