DATTCO is searching for a strong transportation operations leader to serve as a District Operations Manager in our School Bus Division. This position will report to our East Area Assistant Vice President (AVP) and assist the AVP with managing roughly half of the division’s locations, employees and customers. A territory that includes Eastern Connecticut and Rhode Island.DATTCO is the largest private passenger transportation company in New England with 1,700 vehicles operating from over 30 locations. Work directly with the local management staff.Contract review for billing accuracy.Ensure billing sheets are updated daily and accurately.Manage the Speeding Control Process to ensure drivers maintain safe speed levels.Recruit, interview and hire new employees. Ensure proper staffing levels are met.Collaborate with trainers to ensure each trainee progresses through the training program. Interact with trainees to keep them engaged in the process and to assist them through the process.Work with the District Safety Managers to identify accident trends. Customize training and driver communication around problem areas.Ensure that “At Fault” accidents and incidents are handled appropriately. Create driver write ups and work with Safety to ensure proper retraining is completed.Work with AVP and location managers to meet daily indirect hours target. Weekly follow up to ensure accountability.Manage Wage to Revenue Percentage.Provide routing support.Fill-in for managers on vacation or other absences.Conduct roundtable discussions with management and staff.
