If you're ready to bring curiosity, creativity, and drive to every moment, NetApp is where your journey begins.Long DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are seeking a Performance Automation Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain internal software tools used to measure, analyze, and improve the performance of NetApp’s ONTAP™ storage operating system. In this role you will also work to connect Performance Engineering with AI by leveraging GenAI and related technologies to modernize existing automation tools and processes.What You’ll DoDevelop and maintain automation frameworks used for system performance measurement and validationImplement features and enhancements through the full software lifecycle: design, coding, testing, and supportDiagnose and resolve issues in existing automation tools and workflowsLeverage Generative AI technologies to improve performance debugging, log analysis, and data interpretationBuild and maintain clear, user friendly dashboards for performance metricsCollaborate with performance engineers and senior developers to deliver reliable, scalable solutionsCommunicate status, risks, and technical findings clearly to team members and stakeholdersRequired QualificationsStrong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and software design5+ years of Python experience, building maintainable large applications using frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or FlaskExperience developing automation frameworks or test infrastructure for performance measurementHands on experience with REST APIs development and service based architecturesExposure to Generative AI / LLM integrations (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, OpenAI APIs)Practical experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines; Kubernetes experience is a plusExperience with SQL or NoSQL databases; interest in vector databases is a plusSolid object oriented programming skills (beyond scripting)Working Style & ExpectationsComfortable working on well defined but sometimes ambiguous problems with guidanceAble to break down tasks, estimate effort, and deliver work independentlyEffective collaborator who seeks input and reviews from peers and senior engineersStrong written and verbal communication skillsEagerness to learn new tools, technologies, and domainsAdditional NotesWork is conducted in an Agile development environmentDocumentation is expected when appropriate for complex designs or workflowsRole focuses on individual contribution, with occasional support or mentoring of junior engineersBeing able to multitask effectively will be a big asset.CompensationThe target salary range for this position is $180,000-$205,000. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. The range is based on 'On Target Earnings’ (OTE) representing the total potential earnings, which is the sum of the base salary and potential commission earned when performance targets are achieved. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off, various Leave options, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s). These offerings are subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies.
