Instrument and Electronics Technician

Job description: Install, calibrate, maintain and repair all types of electrical and instrumentation devices, equipment and systems throughout the facility. (Including low voltage to 13.8KV systems)Refer to, read, and understand electrical and instrumentation manuals, prints, and drawings.Understand and demonstrate arc flash safety standards as outlined in NFPA 70E.Apply principles of mathematics, physics, AC/DC theory, electronics, pneumatics, and reliability methods in installing and maintaining electrical and instrumentation components and systemsDiagnose, troubleshoot, and repair all types of electrical and instrumentation devices, equipment, and systems (including but not limited to: conduit, cabling, wiring, lighting, power, motors, power distribution equipment, high voltage systems, pneumatic and hydraulic control systems, PLC/DCS systems, flow meters, pressure transmitters, temperature transmitters, valves, and positioners)Cooperate with other crafts to increase flexibility and efficiency by independently performing such tasks as replacement of small motors, small piping component electronics and instrumentation devices and similar tasks, as agreed with affected partiesIndependently access bill of materials, locate and checkout parts from Storeroom.Other duties as assignedOperate lifts and other equipment as neededCheck email at least once a shiftTrain other I/E Technicians and perform maintenance on various machines throughout the facilityQualifications: High school diploma or equivalent5 years of Industrial Instrumentation and Electrical Maintenance experience or formal training from a technical school or institution in the Instrumentation and Electrical field preferredMust be able to work shift work and overtime as requiredAble to effectively communicate with co-workers and managementAble to work autonomouslyPerforming physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materialsAbility to stand and work for up to 16 hours a dayAble to lift heavy items on a regular basisAble to climb stairs and laddersPreform work in an outdoor facilityMust be able to work in an industrial chemical manufacturing environmentWill need to be observant in working around large items and moving vehiclesMust be able to work in a fast-paced, team environmentThis role is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship.
