Role Summary Triad seeks a Data Engineer to design, build and optimise cloud-based data platforms across UK public sector assignments. Key Responsibilities Design, develop and maintain scalable ETL pipelines into AWS data platforms. Create and manage data models for efficient storage and analysis. Utilise AWS services (S3, EC2, Glue, Aurora, Redshift, DynamoDB, Lambda) to architect and maintain solutions. Maintain modular Terraform-based IaC for reliable AWS provisioning. Develop, optimise and maintain Airflow data pipelines. Implement data transformation processes with Python. Collaborate with analysts, scientists, developers and stakeholders. Monitor, optimise and tune pipelines for performance and reliability. Identify data quality issues and implement validation and cleansing. Maintain clear documentation covering pipelines, models and best practices. Work within CI environment with automated builds, deployments and testing. Skills and Experience Strong design and building of data pipelines on cloud platforms, especially AWS. Excellent proficiency in ETL processes and data transformation workflows. Strong SQL (PostgreSQL) and advanced Python coding capability (essential). Experience with AWS services (S3, EC2, Glue, Aurora, Redshift, DynamoDB, Lambda). Understanding of Terraform codebases for AWS infrastructure. Experience with Airflow pipelines. Familiarity with Spark or Databricks. Experience with high-performance, low-latency or large-volume data systems. Collaboration within cross-functional agile teams. Defining data models, metadata and dictionaries for consistency and accuracy. Qualifications & Certifications A degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Data Science or related discipline (desirable). Must be willing and eligible to achieve a minimum of SC clearance. Eligible if resident in the UK for 5 years and right to work in UK.
