Volunteer: Bring Joy to Someone's Life: Become a Hospice Volunteer

Adventist Health Hospice is dedicated to providing comfortable palliative care while preserving dignity, respecting patients' choices and autonomy, and working closely together with families and friends. Hospice volunteers come alongside this goal to provide comfort and care to patients and families to make the most of the time remaining for them. Volunteers can offer companionship, help with light household tasks, make phone calls, document patients' life stories, help with pet care or offer musical talents.,What sparks joy for you? If the answer is volunteering, then hospice might be a wonderful place for you to volunteer. Hospice is all about quality of life and making the most of life while it lasts. When hospice first began years and years ago, it was run entirely by volunteers. Volunteers are still an integral part of the hospice team and can be companions and friendly visitors . If one is more comfortable working in an office rather than a home or patient care facility, volunteering doing administrative tasks or making phone calls are also important roles. Pet therapy and music therapy are also great ways to volunteer with patients at the end of their lives, bringing joy and comfort. If you are a beautician, we have many homebound patients for whom your work would be a blessing.Potential candidates will be provided with training so that they will feel confident as a companion volunteer. In addition, they have the ongoing support and help from the Volunteer Coordinator as well as being part of an inter-disciplinary team.Add a new spark of joy in your life by becoming a hospice volunteer! This is a volunteer opportunity provided by VolunteerMatch, in partnership with LinkedIn for Good.
