You will perform a variety of operational functions in various types of weld preparation, welding as and weld finishing operations to manufacture product to customer drawings and specifications. This is a great opportunity to work with a leading automotive manufacturer while building your long-term career.ResponsibilitiesMust be able to read and interpret drawings, follow routers and use simple math to perform basic calculations.Must be proficient in welding techniques.Must be able to perform wire and filler material applications for various steel alloys, aluminum and galvanized.Working knowledge of fixturing and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)Manually guides electrode or gun along weld line, maintaining length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld and size of molten puddle.Welds in flat, horizontal and vertical positions.Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.Positions and clamps work pieces together or assembles them in jig or fixtures.Chips off excess weld, slag and spatter.Operates grinders and DA sanders to clean up/smooth welds.Must be able to perform visual inspection and dimensional inspection using basic measuring tools.Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions.Update computer records and paperwork in accordance with production requirements.Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on welders as required.Operates a forklift to move parts in and move finished product out of welding area.Maintain work area in clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures.Must have a working command of the English language and be able to communicate orally and in writingRequirementsAbility to perform essential dutiesMinimum of two years in various forms of weldingSuccessful completion of an internal welding testPipe Welding experienceAluminum Welding experienceAbility to perform essential dutiesHigh School Diploma/GED or graduation from certified technical school.Minimum of 2 years machine shop experienceMust accurately read tape measure (assessment given).Strong work ethic, good attendance, and ability to follow instructions.Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work occasional overtime.Steel-toed boots required.Must pass background & drug screening.Schedule & PayShift: 1st & 2nd Shift – Monday–Friday 7:00AM-3:30PM or 1:30PM-10:00PMPay: $25.00-$26.00/hrBenefits (through CloudRay)Weekly payHealth insuranceIncentives & performance-based bonusesReferral bonusesTemp-to-hire career growth potentialReferral BonusRefer a Friend & Earn $200!Refer someone for one of our industrial positions.
