Construction Manager
Job OverviewAPTIM is seeking a Construction Manager to lead tank and seal repair projects across California refineries. This role combines hands-on project execution with client relationship management and business development support.Key Responsibilities/AccountabilitiesOversee projects from initial walkdowns through completionAttend client walkdowns on current or potential scopesCoordinate labor, materials, equipment, and schedules across multiple sitesAssist with scoping as needed with clients and APTIMWork with site supervision to identify scope of work changes and ensure proper communication about changes take placeParticipate in estimate reviewsProcure material and fabrication through the APTIM requisition systemParticipate in bi-weekly financial reviews and weekly reviews of billable and non-billable spendingUnderstand project schedules / deliverable dates and help drive APTIM sites to meet or exceed expectationsAssist sites with manpower needs and communicate with Local Halls as neededEnsure sites are provided with up-to-date work packages, drawings, or scoping details -- help manage documents/filesParticipate in cultivating new business opportunities / Help sale APTIM services to existing and new clientsBuild and maintain strong client relationshipsConduct site safety audits and uphold safety and quality standardsParticipate in both APTIM and client safety auditsBasic Qualifications5+ years of construction management experience (industrial/refinery preferred)Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel)Excellent communication and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentBe able to interact well in a dynamic office team environmentAbout APTIMAPTIM enhances the quality of the environment, wellbeing of people, resilience of communities, and opportunity for employees to make a difference, not just a living.
