Sr Android Power & Performance Engineer
We're partnering with an innovative consumer technology organization seeking a Senior Android Power & Performance Engineer to optimize power consumption, battery life, and thermal performance on advanced Android-based embedded devices. This role will focus on system-level debugging, power characterization, performance optimization, and cross-functional investigation spanning software, firmware, drivers, kernels, and hardware.
Responsibilities
Analyze and optimize Android power consumption across active, idle, sleep, suspend, and deep-sleep states
Investigate battery drain, thermal throttling, wake events, and performance bottlenecks
Debug issues across Android Framework, HAL, drivers, Linux kernel, firmware, and system services
Utilize Perfetto, BatteryStats, dumpsys, systrace, kernel traces, and log analysis tools
Correlate software behavior with measured power consumption and battery performance
Develop structured validation and power characterization plans
Requirements
8+ years of Android and/or embedded systems experience
Deep understanding of Android power management
Strong Embedded Linux experience
Experience with Qualcomm or similar mobile SoC platforms
Experience debugging power, battery, thermal, or performance issues
Strong C/C++ skills
