**GIS / IT Support Technician (Temporary, Part-Time)**Architecture & EngineeringFountain Valley, California, US+ Added - 27/04/2026**Position Overview**We are seeking a detail-oriented GIS/IT Support Technician for a part-time temporary assignment supporting geospatial data operations within a utilities infrastructure environment. This role focuses on Utility Network (UN) GIS development, data cleaning, and asset management in support of an active network migration effort.**Schedule & Hours**This is a part-time assignment requiring 20 hours per week. The hiring manager offers flexibility in how those hours are structured, provided all work is performed on-site and falls within the daily window of 6:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.Example schedules include:+ 5 hours/day, 4 days per week+ Variable daily hours (e.g., 8 hours one day, 2 hours another), as long as the weekly total is 20 hoursAll work is performed on-site. Remote work is not available for this assignment.**Key Responsibilities**+ Support Utility Network (UN) GIS development tasks+ Determine flow direction for tracing and subnetwork analysis; review collection system valves and structures+ Add gates to distribution structures and determine open/closed status+ Clean local lines and manhole data in preparation for UN implementation+ Maintain, validate, and update asset information within the geospatial database+ Interpret engineering drawings to support accurate data entry and field validation**Required Software**+ ArcGIS Pro+ Microsoft O365+ SQL Server Management Studio**Required Skills & Experience**+ Experience with collection system GIS+ Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings+ Familiarity with utility network data structures preferred+ Strong attention to detail and data accuracy_This job description is a complete list of all desired skills, but not all are required.
