Ship Clerk
OverviewThe Vessel Clerk is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of vessels calling at the port. This includes preparing documentation, coordinating with vessel crews, stevedores, and terminal staff, and ensuring accurate records are maintained for all cargo activities. The Vessel Clerk plays a key role in helping our port operations run smoothly and efficiently.ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:Prepare, review, and process all required vessel and cargo documentation.Accurately log cargo movement, including loading and discharge records.Communicate with vessel crews, port authorities, and terminal staff to ensure smooth operations.Maintain records of vessel activity, cargo counts, and discrepancies.Assist supervisors with scheduling and planning vessel operations.Provide updates on vessel progress and cargo status to management as required.Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and port requirements.QualificationsCandidate Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree in logistics, business, or related field preferred).Strong organizational and documentation skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.Effective communication skills (both written and verbal).Must obtain a TWIC cardAbility to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as vessel schedules require.Physical Requirements And Working ConditionsWork is 100% outdoorsCandidate will be exposed to weather conditions like heat, rain & cold on daily basis. And in some occasions will work in closed spaces (warehouse, vessel hatch, etc)Capable of walking, bending, stooping, climbing ladders up to 100ft high and have fast physical reactions (jump, move)Ability to work in a noisy environment
