Azure Summit Technology provides a wide range of multi-channel software defined radio products, innovative signal processing solutions and end-to-end mission payloads and systems for the full range of advanced RF applications including EW, radar, communications and multi-mode RF operations. Systems can be tailored to meet a variety of requirements for bandwidth, dynamic range, number of channels, and computational resources. Supported platforms range from resource-constrained small UAVs and wearable devices to manned aircraft and maritime vessels. What will you do? Azure Summit Technology is currently seeking a Test Manager. The selected candidate will be part of a dynamic, growing, cross-functional, and geographically distributed team. This position is located on-site at a contract manufacturer’s facility (Baltimore, Maryland), with overnight travel to our office in Fairfax, Virginia, Melbourne, Florida, and to vendor/customer sites as needed to support customer activities. Your future team has worked together to produce the following job description: The selected candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day manufacturing supervision and support of the business, ensuring smooth and efficient operations in accordance with the organization’s operating policies and applicable laws. This will require the selected candidate to continually search for opportunities to enhance production processes and the product using a variety of problem-solving techniques, effective interpersonal and communication skills, and technical competency. The selected candidate will motivate, coach, and encourage employees to optimize career development and personal satisfaction. The selected candidate will promote excellent employee relations and empowerment of all manufacturing personnel. This individual will work in sync with the organization to prioritize the delivery of the products to meet customer satisfaction and revenue targets. Responsibilities and duties include: Develop, monitor, and maintain department metrics. Proactively interfaces with project leads and engineering management in resolving issues, coordinating resources, and managing activities. Analyze and resolve work problems and utilize collaboration for resolving problems, including direct reports. Manage the test engineers that support the design for tests and new product introductions into the factory. Provides technical and managerial leadership for the test engineers to affect test yield improvement, reduce test time, increase capacity, and eliminate false failures. Manage test equipment, support equipment, and personnel supporting on-time delivery. Interface with other departments to ensure customer order deadlines are met. Analyze and plan workforce and equipment utilization, space requirements, and workflow. Make recommendations to improve test methods, performance, equipment, and quality of product. Interface with contract manufacturers on ATP and RCCA processes. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment. Review and approve Test plans and procedures. Use MES and ERP systems. Interviewing, hiring, training, and mentoring personnel. Develop subordinates' skills, encourage growth, and mentor future leadership. Manage personnel regarding performance and evaluations. Basic Requirements US citizenship, due to the nature of the work and contract requirement Ability to obtain a DoD TOP SECRET security clearance, due to contract requirement Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) or 6-10 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferably in the aerospace or military industry. Preferred Qualifications Ability to read and interpret documents such as test specifications, drawings, test plans, Acceptance Test Procedures, and equipment operating and maintenance instructions. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations. Basic skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access). MS 365 and TEAMS Monitor, communicate and improve performance through quantitative and qualitative measures of value, outcome, velocity, morale. Operating as the Technical SME for a team of Test Automation Engineers and Performance Test Engineers around strategy, implementation, tracking and continuous improvement of the Test Automation capabilities within the team Proactive care: you have the experience that only comes with time: the ability to solve potential problems before they become the customer’s problem.
