Senior Oracle Application DBA

W2 Position: Senior Oracle Application DBA Location : Westlake, TX; Merrimack, NH; Smithfield, RI. Remote every other week.Duration : 12 months!!The RoleThis role is for a Senior Oracle Application DBA supporting a modernization initiative, focused on some of the most critical brokerage and trading databases in the organization. The position is centered on application-side database administration rather than system DBA work, with responsibilities including SQL tuning, performance optimization, database application design, code reviews, data modeling, development support, and troubleshooting complex production issues. The environment includes enterprise-scale Oracle platforms utilizing technologies such as Oracle RAC, Exadata, GoldenGate replication, AWS cloud services, and Snowflake. The role also involves proactive monitoring, supporting databases through all phases of the SDLC, participating in production support rotations, and collaborating with infrastructure, security, and capacity planning teams. The ideal candidate will have at least 5–6 years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience in large, complex enterprise environments, with strong expertise in SQL performance tuning, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), query optimization, and database engineering. Experience with Oracle GoldenGate replication is highly important, while exposure to AWS, Snowflake, and cloud database platforms is strongly preferred. The team is specifically seeking someone with an application DBA mindset who can actively participate in problem solving and solution design for modernization efforts, rather than a traditional infrastructure/system DBA. Financial services or brokerage platform experience is highly desired, along with strong troubleshooting, communication, scripting, and multitasking skills.
