Truck Driver- Hazmat

Position SummaryHutchinson Construction is seeking a reliable and safety-focused CDL Driver with Hazmat endorsement to support our construction operations. This role is responsible for transporting materials, equipment, and hazardous substances to and from job sites while maintaining the highest level of safety, compliance, and professionalism. Key ResponsibilitiesSafely operate commercial vehicles such as dump trucks, flatbeds, and tanker trucks to transport construction materials, fuels, and equipment. Transport hazardous materials in accordance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety regulationsLoad and unload materials, ensuring proper handling securementPerform pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections of vehicles and trailersMaintain accurate logs and delivery documentation Coordinate with project managers and superintendents to ensure timely deliveries Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policiesAssist with general labor tasks on job sites when neededReport vehicle maintenance issues and ensure preventive maintenance is completed including fueling, greasing heaving equipment, changing or blowing out filter, etc…Clean- up and Housekeeping Work directly with utility and earthwork crewsRequired QualificationsValid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) Hazmat (H) Endorsement (required) Clean driving record with a strong commitment to safetyKnowledge of DOT regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirementsAbility to operate various types of commercial construction vehicles Strong understanding of load securement and hazardous material handling Ability to lift 50+lbs and perform physical labor as needed Excellent communication and time management skills Understanding of construction equipment maintenance proceduresKnowledge to make minor equipment repairsPreferred Qualifications Hazmat (H) Endorsement (required)Tanker endorsement (N) and or combination endorsement (X preferred)Previous experience in construction, heavy civil, or industrial environmentsFamiliarity with transporting fuel, lubricants, chemicals, or other hazardous materialsFamiliarity with securing and transporting construction materials, similar but not limited to PVC pipe, concrete structures, E&S materials, etc. Experience operating equipment such as loaders, excavators, dozers, rollers, skid steers Work EnvironmentOutdoor job sites in varying weather conditions Frequent travel between job sites May require early mornings, overtime, or occasional weekend work Why Join Hutchinson Construction?
