Job Description: Mechanical EngineerJoin our dynamic team as a Mechanical Engineer, where you will be instrumental in supporting general industrial product designs for industries such as automotive OEMs, fabrication OEMs, and fire protection. Your role will involve a blend of design, flow testing, and production support, providing an engaging mix of desk work and hands-on laboratory activities.ResponsibilitiesSpend 20-30% of your time on design using Inventor software at your desk.Allocate 30% of your time to conducting flow testing in our lab.Initially dedicate 60% of your time to design, which will gradually shift to 30-35% production tasks, including handling day-to-day quotes, design tweaks, and customer support.Collaborate with customers to meet their needs and specifications.Essential SkillsBachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).0-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering design work for machining products.Proficiency in 3D design, with a preference for experience using Inventor software.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in stainless steel design.Understanding of fluid flow, thermodynamics, pumps, valves, or hydraulics.Familiarity with machining process component design.Knowledge of the steel industry, nozzle or header design.Experience in carbide or ceramic design for cutting tools, spray nozzles, or water jet cutting.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carol Stream, IL.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $39.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
