Microprocessor Technician
Role Overview
We are looking for a dedicated Microprocessor Technician to join our team in Gaffney, SC, 29340. This position offers a pay range of $29.09 to $33.34 per hour, with shift options available from 7am to 3pm or 8am to 4pm.
Core Responsibilities
Your primary focus will be performing electrical maintenance on plant production and support systems, as well as mechanical upkeep for HVAC equipment. You will be expected to diagnose and fix electrical issues, manage equipment controls and safety circuits, and handle wire and conduit installation.
Required Equipment and Materials
You will utilize various hand and power tools, shop machinery such as lathes, welders, and band saws, and necessary safety gear including respirators, steel-toed boots, and protective eyewear. The role involves working with diverse materials, including lubricants, metals, wood, plastic, glass, and filter media. You will report directly to the Maintenance Crew Leader.
Operational Procedures
Adhere strictly to all plant-wide and task-specific safety protocols.
Maintain certification for Powered Industrial Trucks and operate company vehicles for errands.
Execute comprehensive electrical maintenance for both facility infrastructure and production machinery.
Operate a variety of shop tools, including milling machines, lathes, cutting torches, and various saws.
Apply expert knowledge of electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and safe operational practices.
Demonstrate proficiency in working with A/C and D/C motors and control systems.
Ensure environmental compliance by recording humidity and temperature levels at designated intervals.
Adjust valves, ducts, and control settings to keep climate conditions within required specifications.
Service and replace filter media within air washers and filter houses to ensure system efficiency.
Conduct regular inspections to verify that all assigned equipment is functioning correctly.
Manage water treatment chemicals as part of your routine maintenance tasks.
Replace or tension fan belts to ensure optimal performance of air handling units.
Clean and sanitize cooling and air conditioning systems to maintain peak operation.
Repair, replace, or perform preventative maintenance on pumps and motors as necessary.
Keep your designated work area organized and clean to support a safe environment.
Complete special assignments or projects as requested by leadership.
Notify management promptly regarding parts or supplies needed for ongoing repairs.
Execute additional tasks as assigned by the management team.
Qualifications and Physical Demands
Candidates must possess previous electrical maintenance experience, ideally within a textile or greige manufacturing setting. You should have strong communication skills, basic computer literacy, and math proficiency. The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, and pushing or pulling loads. You must be able to interpret control diagrams and pass vision and color-vision screenings. Competency testing may be required. Always follow safety guidelines and report any incidents or near-misses immediately while utilizing all required PPE.
