Staff Accountant

Complete Mechanical Services is an award-winning Industrial General Contractor located in Cincinnati, Ohio. Founded over 25 years ago, we provide innovative solutions including capabilities in Project and Construction Management, 3D Scanning & Design, Shop Prefabrication, Plumbing and Civil/Site work.We are currently looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team in Blue Ash, Ohio.CORE RESPONSIBILITIESGeneral AccountingPrepare and post journal entries including payroll, accruals, and job cost adjustmentsAssist with monthly and year-end close processesPerform bank and balance sheet account reconciliationsSupport preparation of internal financial reports and audit activitiesMaintain organized and accurate financial recordsAccounts Receivable & Job Cost SupportPrepare customer billings, including AIA pay applications, progress, time & material, and retention billingsPrepare necessary lien waivers and other necessary invoicing documentationWork with project managers to gather documentation for billing, change orders and job close outRecord accounts receivable collections and monitor outstanding account receivablesAssist with creation of new jobs including schedule of values and change ordersCompliance & Process ImprovementMaintain vendor documentation including W-9s and certificates of insuranceAssist with sales and use tax reportingOversee 1099 preparationParticipate in process improvements within the accounting departmentRequirements:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related subject1–3 years of accounting experience (construction experience highly preferred but not required)High attention to detail and accuracyAbility to manage multiple active projects and deadlinesStrong communication skills; ability to collaborate with operations and field leadershipAbility to quickly learn new softwareProfessional judgment and ability to handle confidential informationProcess-oriented with continuous improvement mindsetEqual Opportunity Employer**no agencies or third parties**
