Our systems are built for dependable field performance, reliable data, and real-world inspection challenges.We design and manufacture our scanners, electronics, and proprietary Analyst™ software in-house, allowing our engineering team to work directly with each product throughout design, prototyping, testing, and production.Position SummaryScanTech is seeking a full-time Mechanical/Design Engineer to support the design, development, testing, and improvement of automated NDT scanning systems and related components.This is a hands-on position that works closely with our machining, manufacturing, software, sales, marketing, and field support teams. The ideal candidate will be comfortable taking a product from an initial concept and CAD design through prototyping, testing, and production.This is an on-site position based in Longview, Texas.ResponsibilitiesCreate and revise mechanical designs, assemblies, and production drawings using Autodesk InventorDevelop new products and improve existing scanner systems, fixtures, housings, mechanisms, and accessoriesBuild and test prototypes, document results, and make practical design improvementsWork directly with machining and production teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and serviceableTroubleshoot mechanical issues and support root-cause analysis and corrective actionsPrepare bills of materials, specifications, technical documentation, and design recordsParticipate in design reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout product developmentSupport field testing, customer applications, and product validation when neededProvide accurate technical information for product launches, brochures, website content, videos, demonstrations, trade shows, and other customer-facing materialsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or a closely related field, or extensive directly relevant experienceWorking knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and mechanical drafting practicesAbility to create clear parts, assemblies, dimensions, tolerances, and manufacturing drawingsPractical understanding of machining, materials, mechanical systems, and product developmentStrong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to explain technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical team membersAbility to work on-site in Longview, TexasPreferred ExperienceMid-level experience in mechanical or product design, although qualified candidates at other experience levels will be consideredExperience with CNC machining, prototyping, robotics, motion systems, or industrial equipmentKnowledge of electrical design, motors, controls, sensors, or cable routingExperience taking a product from concept through testing and productionExperience supporting product demonstrations, technical marketing materials, trade shows, or customer educationFamiliarity with nondestructive testing, ultrasonic inspection, or industrial automationWork EnvironmentThis role includes a combination of engineering office work, shop-floor collaboration, prototype assembly, equipment testing, and cross-functional support.The position may occasionally involve lifting components, working around machinery, and supporting field tests, customer demonstrations, trade shows, or marketing content development.BenefitsCompetitive compensation based on experienceFull benefits available after the probationary periodPaid time off and company holidaysOpportunity to work directly with innovative products in a small, collaborative manufacturing environmentInterested candidates can apply directly through LinkedIn or send a resume and brief summary of relevant experience to jobs@scanndt.com.
