Our Enterprise Digital team is a multidisciplinary, experience led group focused on solving customer needs while enabling strategic and operational goals.We're looking for a customer obsessed, results driven Director of Product Design to lead the evolution of our digital presence. In this role, you'll reimagine the end to end shopping journey—from awareness to purchase—identifying opportunities for value creation and delivering innovative, scalable solutions that simplify complex decisions for our customers.You are a strategic, collaborative leader with deep expertise in ecommerce and complex purchase journeys—especially in regulated or high stakes environments like healthcare. You'll lead a team of product designers and partner closely with design researchers and content strategists to shape human centered, accessible experiences aligned to business priorities. You will collaborate with senior leaders across Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Operations to define and drive experience strategy across multiple portfolios. This role reports to the AVP of Product Design.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the Team & CultureBuild, mentor, and inspire a high-performing, inclusive product design teamSet clear expectations, coach for craft excellence, and cultivate a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learningDefine Experience StrategyPartner with Research and Content Strategy to create a cohesive, end-to-end experience vision across multiple digital initiativesTranslate consumer insights into strategies and design direction that solve real user needs and deliver business outcomes—especially for complex ecommerce flows like health plan selectionElevate Design Quality & DeliveryCreate and evangelize strategic deliverables—experience roadmaps, future-state visions, north-star journeys, and design principlesUse storytelling, service blueprints, user journeys, and prototypes to align stakeholders and communicate opportunitiesOperate with a Startup MindsetFoster agile ways of working, rapid experimentation, and test-and-learn practicesBreak long-term visions into actionable phases, balancing desirability, feasibility, and viabilityCross-Functional LeadershipServe as a senior point of contact for executive and cross-functional partners, ensuring alignment of UX strategy and execution across workstreamsCollaborate with Engineering, Product, Marketing, Operations, Legal/Compliance, and Brand to deliver cohesive, compliant experiencesSystems, Accessibility & GovernanceEnsure adherence to design system standards, accessibility requirements (e.g., WCAG/ADA), and quality benchmarks across all touchpointsPartner with Content Strategy to evolve navigation, information architecture, and messaging for clarity and conversionContinuous Discovery & MeasurementPartner with CX Insights to shape long-term research strategies, champion continuous discovery, and drive iterationLeverage analytics, experimentation, and performance metrics to inform decisions and optimize outcomesUse your skills to make an impactUse your skills to make an impactRequired Qualifications12+ years in UX, Product Design, or Interaction Design5+ years managing design teams, including experience leading people managersPortfolio demonstrating strategic design leadership and measurable impact in ecommerce or complex transactional environmentsStrong understanding of performance metrics and data-informed designProven ability to deliver within business, technical, and regulatory constraintsDemonstrated success leading design for complex systems and multi-step user flowsProficiency in conceptual modeling, interaction flows, design systems, and specificationsExperience leading or guiding user research and applying insights to designTrack record of delivering digital products in Agile environmentsMastery of Figma and modern design toolsPreferred QualificationsMaster's Degree in a relevant design discipline (HCI, Interaction Design, UX Design) or equivalent experienceExperience designing inclusive, accessible experiences—especially for older adultsFamiliarity with Medicare or healthcare insurance productsExperience with usability testing platforms and experimentation frameworksExcellent organizational and prioritization skills in fast-paced environmentsStrong analytical and process-oriented thinkingWork-At-Home InformationTo ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees' ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria:At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.Scheduled Weekly Hours40Pay RangeThe compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$138,900 - $191,000 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan.
