Job Title: Phlebotomist IIJob DescriptionThis is a float position where you will assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations.Responsibilities+ Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, and record maintenance data.+ Conduct decontamination and update patient information accurately.+ Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.+ Explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collections clearly and courteously.+ Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.+ Fully understand and execute all physicians' orders.+ Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes accurately.+ Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by the test order.+ Ensure all test requisitions or computer labels match the script 100%.+ Package specimens for transport and store samples at the required temperature.+ Follow procedures outlined by specific protocols to maintain specimen integrity.+ Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual department trainings.+ Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.Essential Skills+ Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.+ Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.+ High School Diploma or GED.+ 2-4 years of experience in phlebotomy.Additional Skills & Qualifications+ Proficiency in blood draw, venipuncture, and patient care.+ Experience with high-volume draws.+ Flexibility to float to multiple locations including Hemet, Murrieta, Moreno Valley, and potentially Temecula and Fallbrook, CA.+ CPT Certification from CDPH.+ BLS Certification from AHA.Work EnvironmentThis is a short-term 3-month contract position.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Moreno Valley, CA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.11 - $23.11/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
